After asking around, we were soon in a little group signing up for societies together and getting to know one another. The Alan Turing building is modern and spacious and the staff have been really helpful and inviting. The staff at the reception are welcoming and any problem or query you have, they will help. This week, I needed some help with understanding parts of my timetable, within minutes they had it sorted! From Self Defence and Pole Fitness to Sky Diving and Mountaineering, there is so many to choose from that you are bound to find something that floats your boat. The walk along the Oxford road which runs through the campus is a struggle during \u2018Welcome Week\u2019, to say the least. You literally have to dive and duck away from all of the people giving out leaflets and free pens \u2013 although, who doesn\u2019t like a freebee, I guess?<\/p>\n<p>As welcome week has come to an end, I have got to know so many people. As I am someone who isn\u2019t into partying \u201cfreshers\u201d style, I was worried it would be difficult to get to know people. BUT there are plenty of other ways to make friends and socialise.
