He is leading the UK\u2019s representation at the Expo and came to the University on a fact-finding mission. Whilst here he spent time at the National Graphene Institute learning about graphene; one of the most transformational technologies of our age, before meeting with Professor Martin Schr\u04e7der, Dean of the University\u2019s Faculty of Science and Engineering, to find out more about the world-leading work that the University is carrying out in the fields of advanced materials and energy.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the three-month long exposition the University\u2019s work in energy, advanced materials, industrial biotech and health innovation will be showcased to over two-million visitors. Our work will help the UK Government to promote the UK as a place to live, work and study.<\/p>\n<p>Charles Hendry said of the University\u2019s involvement: \u201cI am delighted that The University of Manchester, a world-leading university, has become one of the UK Pavilion\u2019s official sponsors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough its expertise in advanced materials, energy, industrial biotech and health innovation, The University of Manchester is a great example of what makes the UK education sector so exceptional.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the Expo an exciting business and cultural programme will be delivered through the UK Pavilion which has the theme of \u2018We are Energy\u2019. It will demonstrate new technologies from across the UK energy sector and provide an outstanding visitor attraction.
