The end of 2019 is fast approaching, so to all of our students, colleagues and friends from Chemistry and beyond a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!<\/p>\n

The University closes on 23rd December and will reopen on 2nd January; staff will be ready to answer your queries when they return from the break.<\/p>\n

To mark the festivities we wanted to share with you a little highlight from our Christmas party a couple of weeks ago with a Chemistree from the Mass Spec Team, who have explained more below:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Our Chemistree has been inspired by Prof Google and created by the Mass Spec ‘A’ team in conjunction with our colleagues from the Chemistry Stores, utilising highly sophisticated equipment from across the Department (aka bits and bobs lying around). Equipment included a boss for the base, clamps to create the branches of the tree. We decorated with various items of glassware including round bottom flasks and separating funnels containing samples taken from chemical reactions with a festive theme! (Ok, food colouring from our kitchens!)<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0And no Chemistree would be complete without\u00a0 the Star of \u201c Benzene-lehem\u201d \u00a0to top it off and light the way.<\/em><\/p>\n
