This week the #MondayMaterials<\/a> series takes a bit of a departure.<\/p>\n

So far, we\u2019ve been meeting with the School\u2019s researchers, learning about their current projects and how they got to where they are today.<\/p>\n

This week, and just a few days after the School of Materials\u00a0graduation ceremony, we meet up with Amy Nicholson \u2013 someone who is currently at a much earlier stage of her career. In fact, Amy was one of our graduating students last Wednesday afternoon!<\/p>\n

I first met Amy at the DFB degree show<\/a> where she told us all about her Fair and Thrifty business project. I was impressed by the work she\u2019d put together with her colleagues, and it was great for me to hear a student\u2019s perspective on life in the school for the very first time.<\/p>\n

I thought she\u2019d be the perfect person to talk to find out more about life as a Materials undergraduate:<\/p>\n

Hi Amy. Can you tell us what course you\u2019ve just graduated from? And what was the best thing about your degree?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

I studied Fashion Textile Retailing with Industrial Experience \u00a0\u2013 which included a placement year in my 3rd<\/sup> year(Ed: this is and old course title, to find similar courses head to the Materials website<\/a>) . I also did optional modules in clothing, which meant that I did a little bit more manufacture and a bit more design.<\/p>\n
