Preparing for Physics at Manchester
Welcome to Physics 13th September 2021
Dr Lloyd Cawthorne shares pre-university optional exercises and resources that may interest any budding physicists, as well as those already set to take on the challenges of an undergraduate physics degree!
Each year we give our successful applicants some optional pre-arrival work to help them before starting the next chapter in their life at Manchester. To access this material, follow the instructions here: https://isaacphysics.org/pages/uom_incoming.
To complement this, we hosted two online support sessions where Dr Lloyd Cawthorne went through some selected problems. The first took place on the 27th of August where we went through Two Orbiting Masses, Cycling through Wind, Graph Interpreting 5.2 and Deflecting Ions. The recording of this session is below.
The second session took place on Friday 10th September, where Dr Cawthorne covered Work Done by a Force 1, Aiming an Oscilloscope Beam, Integration Using Trig, Identities 3 and Heating a Wire.
